Opinions are a unique and interesting place in any newspaper. Here at The Sunrise News, we believe that the opinion section serves an important role. The fact that readers might not agree with the articles written there is exactly why it should exist. 

The purpose of the opinion section is to challenge all of us, readers and editors alike, to consider other people’s perspectives. We want to showcase a diverse set of viewpoints, some that you may agree with, and others that you will not, because this type of diversity makes all of us better. Considering diverse perspectives allows us to exist outside of an echo chamber, encouraging understanding and respect for those we don’t always agree with.
