Press release: Fictiontown Spring Arts and Music Festival
The Fictiontown Spring Arts & Music Festival is scheduled to take place on March 15-16, 2025, at Railroad Park in downtown Fictiontown, Alabama. The festival will run from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM each day. It is an outdoor event that aims to celebrate the arrival of spring with a variety of music performances, art displays, food options, and family-friendly activities.
The music performances will be divided across two stages. The Main Stage will feature national and regional performers, including The Revivalists and Yola as headliners. Local acts such as Magic City Quintet, The Steel Magnolia Sisters, and Neon Pines will also perform.
A smaller Garden Stage near the park will provide acoustic sets from regional artists and singer-songwriters for those who prefer a quieter setting.
The festival will include an Artist Market, where more than 100 artists and artisans will showcase their work. The market will feature items such as paintings, sculptures, pottery, photography, and handmade jewelry. Interactive art installations will be placed around the park to allow attendees to contribute to murals or create their own art. For children, the festival will offer activities like finger painting, mask-making, and chalk drawing in a designated area called the Creative Kids Corner.
Food vendors will be available throughout the event, serving options that include barbecue sliders, shrimp po’boys, vegan wraps, and wood-fired pizza. Desserts such as banana pudding, fresh beignets, and artisanal ice cream will also be sold. A Craft Beer & Wine Garden will provide local beverages from breweries and vineyards, including Avondale Brewing Company and Cahaba Brewing Co.
The festival will include additional family activities, such as a petting zoo, face painting, and an inflatable obstacle course. Local authors will host story time sessions, and puppet shows will be performed for children. Guided nature walks around Railroad Park will offer information about the park’s plants and wildlife.
Organizers have stated that the event will prioritize sustainability by including recycling stations and encouraging attendees to bring reusable water bottles. Hydration stations will be available on-site. Part of the proceeds from the event will go to the Birmingham Education Foundation to support arts programs in schools.
Other highlights of the festival will include a lantern release on Saturday evening, where attendees can release lanterns into the sky. Dance workshops in salsa, line dancing, and hip-hop will be offered. Pop-up performances from musicians, poets, and dancers will occur in different areas of the park.
Tickets are priced at $15 for a single-day pass and $25 for a weekend pass. Children under 12 can attend for free. VIP tickets, which include additional benefits such as access to exclusive viewing areas, complimentary food and beverages, and festival merchandise, are available for $75 per day. Parking will be available in nearby lots, with shuttle services offered to transport attendees to the park. The event organizers have encouraged attendees to use public transportation or carpool.
